Proposition N2N is a .NET library, that allows you access to Notes Databases located on a Domino server. They won the Lotus Advisor Editor's choice award for best data integration tool twice already. From the official release notes:

  • Visual Studio Integration - Proposion N2N 2.0 has been greatly enhanced to make it easier to use within Visual Studio.NET.  The enhancements include visual component editing, drag-and-drop toolbox support, a server explorer, and numerous wizards and code-generation functions.  It is now possible to build complete working .NET applications that read and write Notes data with only a few lines of custom code.
  • Query Analyzer tool - The N2N Query Analyzer makes it easy to develop and test connection strings and command statements for use with Proposion N2N.  You can select from among dozens of sample queries and commands.  Or you can use the helpful facilities for browsing your Notes/Domino databases and automatically build connection and command strings based on your inputs.  You can time the execution of your command, view the resulting data. or extract it as XML.
  • Web Diagnostics tool - The N2N Web Diagnostics tool is a simple web application that analyzes your system and performs a series of tests before attempting to use Proposion N2N.  This is intended to help customers detect and debug installation problems and common access control issues with IIS and ASP.NET.
  • Enhancements to core ADO.NET Data Driver - Proposion N2N 1.x already had extensive support for accessing unique Notes / Domino features such as agents, attachments, embedded images, multi-valued fields, parent/response relationships, full-text searches, view and folder indexes, encryption, and e-mail.  Version 2.0 adds the ability to search for databases, extract design information about a database, locate user’s mail files, and more.

I had only a very short look, but it seems it could saveguard the Domino servers when an organization moves to .NET. I would love to hear how it integrates and performs in a production environment.
